How to correct UKVI visa vignette or evisa error

Do not forget to review the details on your issued UK visa. Errors on UK visa tend to happen from time to time. For this reason when you receive your UK visa in either a stamp in your passport or evisa digital format, you need to check that all the details recorded on your visa are correct.

For evisa you can view your evisa online.

Error correction on UK visa vignette

If there is a mistake on the entry vignette sticker in your passport you need to contact UKVI immediately to request a correction. If UKVI (Home Office) thinks that there is an error then you will need to submit your passport again to the visa application centre for a new vignette to be stamped in your passport.

Errors on issued evisa

If there is an error with your evisa (digital immigration status) you should report it by completing an online form. However, sometimes the evisa correction team may respond that all the details reflect the Home Office records correctly. In that case you need to contact UKVI to ask them to correct their records. Only then the evisa can be corrected.

You should report an error if:

  • your eVisa details are wrong – for example it’s showing the wrong date of birth or immigration status
  • you can view your eVisa but you cannot use it to get a share code
  • you cannot view your eVisa because of a technical error when you’re signed into your UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) account
  • the Home Office set up your UKVI account and you’ve never been able to sign in to it
