Our professional fees are for our (Thaxted Legal) legal work on a case. It does not include any Home Office fees, government fees, third party fees or third party costs, etc.
Majority of our cases are handled on fixed fee basis. This means that we agree our professional fee upfront before starting work on a case. There may, however, be circumstances when we will charge on hourly basis and then our hourly rate is £200.
Our consultation fees vary between £120 for half an hour to £200 for up to an hour consultation. Our consultations normally take place online via Microsoft Teams or in other digital formats.
Our professional fee for preparing and submitting an immigration application depend on the application type and complexity. We take into account the visa category, individual circumstances in each case (e.g. whether applicant has any negative immigration history or criminal offences, volume of documentary evidence), other individual circumstances assessed on case by case basis.
For simple cases we normally charge between £600 and £1,800.
For medium complexity cases we normally charge between £1,900 and £3,500.
For complex cases we normally charge between £3,600 and £6,000.
For assistance with sponsor licence application our fees vary between £1,800 and £6,000 depending on the licence category and individual circumstances of each case.
We offer application checking service. Our professional fees for checking immigration applications differ from case to case but in general they are between 50-75% of the fees we would charge for assistance with the preparation of the application.
Any costs which we may incur on your behalf are not included in our professional fees. These can include, but are not limited to the following:
• Value Added Tax (VAT) if applicable
• Payments made to the Home Office such as application fees, Immigration Health Surcharge, submission costs etc.;
• Payments made to the UKVI such as application fees, Immigration Health Surcharge, submission costs etc.;
• Payments made to third parties such as HM Revenue & Customs, HM Passport Office or the Land Registry etc.;
• Counsel’s fees. In the event of us seeking the advice of a Barrister (Counsel), you will be liable for their fees which vary depending on seniority. We will discuss with you options and costs in relation to Counsel before instructing them on your behalf and we shall keep you informed as to the hourly rate of any barristers that are instructed in your matter;
• Fees payable to Courts or Tribunals;
• External translation fees;
• Costs of Experts or Agents instructed on your behalf;
• Postage charges and courier charges;
• Travel and meeting expenses.
• Photocopying and print room services;
• Bank charges;
• Document Certification Fees
• Any other third party fees or third party costs that are not listed above but will be required on your case.
