Reporting change of circumstances after your UK visa is granted and you are residing in the UK

You’re in the UK and have a visa – reporting change of circumstances

When you are on a visa in the UK you will need to remember to update Home Office of changes in your circumstances. How you do this depends on what you’re reporting.

You must report any changes if you’re in the UK and have either:

  • got a visa
  • applied for a visa but have not had a decision yet
Reporting changes of circumstances when in the UK on a visa

Changes to your name or personal details – reporting change of circumstances

You need to report via your online UKVI account if any of the below listed details change:

  • name
  • nationality
  • facial appearance
  • date of birth
  • gender

Fill in a change of circumstances form if you’ve applied for a visa but have not had a decision.

Report a change of address only

You can update your address or your legal representative’s address online.

Report all other changes

Fill in the change of circumstances form to report any other changes of circumstances including:

  • your contact details
  • your legal representative’s details
  • dependent family members’ details
  • if you separate from your partner
  • if you get a criminal conviction
  • if any of your children stop living with you
